Hello Nursing World,

So in this blahhh economy, I managed to get an interview at a prestigious hospital next week, and am lost about my outfit.  I agree that suits are the most professional, actually the RIGHT suit is the most professional, but I am just not a suit wearing girl.  I feel awkward in them, and the last thing i want to do in my interview is convey awkardness!!  So I bought this argyle black sweater...its black and grey--no crazy hot pinks/blues--its a v-neck, so I'm thinking crisp white collared shirt underneath, and black dress pants.  Do you guys think its ok?  Or should i just suck it up and go for the business suit??

and is it ok to wear flats to an interview?  i'm 5'5, and can barely walk in heels--but i can do it if i have to.  the flats are new, no scuff marks, clean, and black...

help! please? :)

I would go with the sweater, white shirt, black slacks, & flats. Plus add an appropriate necklace. Sounds like you've got it going girl. Good luck. Now I need to get an interview. I'm a traveler, live in NC, & there doesn't seem to be any openings here. Just got an offer for NM, have one for Alaska also. Not sure I want to do either during the winter months. If push comes to shove may have to. Again good luck with the interview, keep us posted.

Sorry for the delay...had a tragedy in my family.  My 36 yr old uncle passed away in his sleep, and he was all set to get married this weekend....He died on 11/15 so since then things have been chaotic and blah.

But on a lighter note, the interview was a great success...so thank you to all who wished me well =)
