I have gone on several interveiws and many where a total waste of my time.  Examples, drove 20 minutes in the snow and the person I had the appointment with called off.  One company called me I went to the interveiw and I was asked 2 questions than told they would call me because the person doing the hiring is on vacation. Or I was told they would make a decision in 2 weeks and no call.  Is this what nurisng has come to?

" I can feel for you.I have stopped counting the opportunities that interviews were scheduled,

( thus have had to reschedule personal appointments, etc.),for potential prospects to occur,

thus have had, " The Charlie Brown experience". So,is there really a nursing shortage?

    **What gives ?"

Evidently, I understand your frustration regarding this unethical behavior on part of the recruiter.  However, you must look at it this way it's never a waste of your time when you go to an interview, learn from the experience and move on to better and bigger things.  Moreover, if they cancel on you without the courtesy of given you a call, it shows the lack of respect on their behalf.   Therefore, you were shown the true colors of the facility, in the near future prior leaving your home call the recruiter and tell then " I'm looking forward to meet you today at our schedule interview @ 9:00am."   Following this further, in the past when I was a staff nurse and went on interviews I would call the day ahead as well to confirm my interview, just in case anything has change.  Having said that, we must consider, that we are humans and unnexpected situations do occur, once again it's good to call prior leaving your home.  Wishing all of you the best in all of your future endeavors............ALOHA~

stop saying 'where' in place of 'were' hahaha. No in all seriousness though... all interviews are good practice BUT its bullshit that they waiste your time further by keeping you longer to go over all of the wonderful things their company offers, or how great they are, giving you a tour of their building etc...I HATE that.

80% of interviews i go to... i do very well... no stuttering, give great examples, mirroring your interviewer, dress well, relate to your interviewer but also give a very tiny hint of your hopes for the future & with the company of YOUR choosing-without being cocky... i feel that no matter how badly they need someone, you shouldn't have to wait 15-30 min. when you get there, then on top of that listen to your interviewer rant about things that really shouldn't be totally delved into until the second interview... it is SO unprofessional of them (i think) they need to put their best foot forward given the situation... the best interviewers i have been to (so far) had business degrees. (They were also the hardest/most intimidating-lol!)
