Posted over 5 years ago Cops & nurses. My ex-boyfriend is a police officer and my husband is getting his criminal justice degree. I think one of the major advantages to law enforcement/medical professional relationshps is the fact you can sit down with a cop and talk about the nasty case that came into ER and they can tell you about the nasty crash and vent on each other without disrupting supper! Another thing is the fact that so much of what we do and everything they do is confidential and you can talk to each other about stuff and it goes no further! |

| Posted over 5 years ago Yup. another good thing is that a cop will understand that you work weekends, holidays and odd ball hours. I know many cope/nurse pairs. |

| Posted over 5 years ago Wow... I know plenty of female nurses and female paramedics that are married or dating cops, but it's usually different for male nurses, I see that that, a few more than other groups, are married or are dating female nurses followed by dating or married to teachers/professors. |

| Posted over 5 years ago cutie: sometimes you have to be bold and take the first step. Worse thing that can happen is you get turned down. You wont die. What are you waiting for? Ask him out. |

| Posted over 5 years ago When I was working my first ER job, I had two housemates. One was a paramedic, the other a cop. We all worked in the same general area, and occasionally crossed paths at work. One day, the cop was first responder to an unresponsive person and performed CPR until the paramedic responded and brought the patient to me in the ER. Weird. |

| Posted over 5 years ago Cd, he knows I like him, he is playing hard to get. I invited him out for margaritas. He said he will take me up on that offer oneday. I think he likes me because, I was doing a project in my Sociology class, and I ask his partner to help me. He got jealous. So that is a good sign!! I am a proud mother of three beautyful daughter. I currently live in Los Angeles California. I've worked as a heathecare provider for almost 10 years. | Posted over 5 years ago That is huge transition, because cops are so aggressive, don't get me wrong, nurses are aggresive too, but we can't release our frustration through tackling someone to the ground, I know at times we might want to do that, with uncooroporative family members. I am a proud mother of three beautyful daughter. I currently live in Los Angeles California. I've worked as a heathecare provider for almost 10 years. | Posted over 5 years ago That's very true cuttie. Although I don't think we are all aggressive (cops that is), we are definately trained to handle things in a different way. This has sometimes been a challange for me but I feel that I have made the transition fairly easily. I can honestly say that I was one of those cops who truly cared about what I was doing. It wasn't all tackling and arresting. We spent most of our time help people and talking to people using our own kind of therapuetic communication. I just didn't know at the time that I was practicing my therapeutic communication when I was talking somebody out of committing suicide or hurting somebody else. The media fails to show that side of law enforcement. It just isn't exciting enough for them. lol I would think that it really would be a hard transition though for a cop that really was aggressive in nature. Thankfully, that just wasn't my personality! I worked a pretty aggessive beat but only had one "true" fight in all of my 10 years on the job. Commication is the key!! |

| Posted over 5 years ago My friend who I stated was a arson investigator, who I am so crazy~~~ over heels over. He was also a fireman before he became a arson investigator. I think, being a fireman, has helped him with his aggression, and with his communication and therapeutic abilities. . He loves to talk to people, and he enjoys working with people. I think the transition can be hard either or, it depends on your demeanor. I am a proud mother of three beautyful daughter. I currently live in Los Angeles California. I've worked as a heathecare provider for almost 10 years. I am curently in school to pursue my MSN in nursing, and wants to work as a pediactric nurse, in public health. |

| Posted about 5 years ago Hi! My wife and I are nurses. I later became a Cop and have been for 26 yrs. I later returned to nursing and work part-time as my 12 hour shifts let me. I think Cops and Nurses get on so well because they both see and understand what each other go through. Unfortunately or fortunately other peoples miseries bring these two together. |
