hahaha... not if they 'don't agree with me'... its about agreeing with joel (of course) lol just kidding I just wanted to be silly...

*No but in all seriousness, if you are having a bad day and you listen to him ... it will totally brighten your afternoon. I could not listen to him for a while after leaving his event at Dodger stadium in los angeles early (as my boyfriend was being mean and i didn't feel that i was in a position to receive the message being given in my hurt/upset state). But I began listening to him again... and just talk about uplifting! I urge everyone to check him out if you haven't. Don't be turned off or write him off as a tele-evangelist...  take the time to really check him out. His simplicity/easy-going nature yet profoundness really makes it an easy, enjoyable listen. And I am not a bible thumper, I promise!

Thanks for the clarification. I am not an Osteen fan. I prefer to listen to Kenneth Ham and  Frank Turek. I appreciate the advice though. :o)

PS:

I am NOT really crazy about the term "Bible thumper". I prefer Christian, but you should not be ashamed to be called either.

What? You kind of irritated me just now. When I say 'bible thumper'  I mean 'fire & brimstone' which non xtians may not know. However you can take things however you like. Scared to be called christian>? Not quite actually. But if its humorous to you to think thats how I feel then go right ahead. I feel the way you 'confronted' me just now wasn't very christian like.

Wasn't confronting you. I was just trying to see exactly where you are coming from. I also was not trying to be funny or humorous.

BWT, if you would like to decide what is Christian or not, using an "x" to shorten the word Christ is not something a Christian would do. Short-hand or not, the word Christ is sacred and should not be shortened out of a word.

Lol, so lets say i was a court reporter and that the typical shortening of that word would be 'xtn'? lol. Jesus would not want us nit-picking about such things. And if i spelled 'Him' with a lower case... then what? lol

The fact that you don"t see it as an issue says a lot.

The fact that you feel the need to point out my 'flaws' says alot. I don't want to 'argue' with you. I like you other than this thread. Maybe I am used to a more aggressive/silly internet forum... lets not fight. I am sorry for affending you if I did. I like to poke fun at things and don't mean to be offensive at all. If i wanted to affend people or make them angry I would be coming at people in general much differently. Lets agree to disagree? Sorry.  Ok, can we be friends now?

p.s. I am checking out the people you listed. Are you into joyce meyer at all? Or are they too 'mainstream' and 'watered down' for your taste?

I am not wanting to fight with you either. That was not my intention at all. I can honestly say that I have never listened or read anything by joyce Meyer.

As for my choices in Christian speakers/authors, I really don't look at whether someone is "mainstream" or "watered down". I believe that the entire Bible is the true revelation of God not just the "good, happy parts"and I am open to anyone who follows the Word.

I have just been searching some of the threads today, and happened upon this.  As a moderator on the site I would like to say thank you to both of you for working this disagreement out in a mature manner.  Furthermoe, I would like to take this opportunity to remind everyone on the site that we are all adults and professionals and should be conducting ourselves as such.
