Posted over 2 years ago Hello nycman! I'm a recent LPN grad. myself and am taking the boards early December (I just have to decide on what date). Congratulations! I'm new to this site, so I'm still learning my way around. I can tell you that I did find a great resume sample for nurses, which I will be glad to send to you; if you would like. Our school had a leadership course, which required writing and editing our resumes. The instructor was very particular about our resumes, and we would have to keep submitting them until they were perfect. It's a shame that most programs don't offer that. I will be putting mine under the Certificates/Licenses section of my resume. I will add the exam date, but I will not be putting in my license number. This method was approved by my strict instructor, so I hope this helps.

Posted over 2 years ago Hey StephieLF, I could use that sample resume for nurses, if you don't mind sending it to me. I just graduated, so I'm trying to put together a resume that would be me noticed. I unfortunately didn't get an internship during school, so I could use all the help I can get.

Posted over 2 years ago " It is great that your instructor wants to help you write your resume, though it is," extremely important", to remember that within the last,10 years, verification of active licensure is most critical when applying for any healthcare employment. Whether it be RN / LPN, according to the Department of the State, one of the rule of thumbs to any state inspector upon initiation of survey,( hospitals/LTCs ), is to a) check every professional licensure within the building inspected. ***This certainly is important, in the effort to acquire," Deficiency-Free Status". This is,also, important to take pride in oneself for all efforts accomplished, through studies and clinicals, too!"

Posted over 2 years ago Hey ddevans, I will try to locate that resume and message the site to you. It's a great sample, I think. ninelives, I don't believe the resume needs to have the license number on it. IMO, the resume is what I send out to all possible jobs for the initial contact. I also do not include references either at this point. If there is interest on their part, then I would supply my license number and references at that point. Of course, opinions will vary on this; as I believe this is personal preferences. If I am filling out an application, however, I will include all that information, if requested. I'm very proud of my accomplishments, as we all should be.
