Posted over 5 years ago I am in need of some advice regarding hourly pay for a new grad registered nurse with a BSN degree. According to the bureau of labor and statistics website, the average wage for RNs in my area is about $33/hour. That being said, what can a new grad expect to make? I don't want to go into an interview and be laughed at or be "taken." Any and all advice would be greatly appreciated. |

| Posted over 5 years ago Here in the south, working nights you start at about $30/hr...but the day shift is a little less...so you should check on a website of the hospital you want to work at and sometimes the site has an average starting pay and you get shift diff..or talk to a nurse and find out the starting pay |

| Posted about 5 years ago Well I am from Mississippi and new graduates start of with $18.95 for first shift and if you work evening and nights its a differential of $2 to $5. It is not worth it. We put in so much work and i know people who did not attend a four year college and they are making $18.00! |

| Posted about 5 years ago I am from Wisconsin and am also wondering what the new grads start out at. What do you think about working for a traveling company as a new grad nurse? Would it be better to get experience in a hospital setting prior to working for any of the companies? |
