Ok, I have finally had my first interview this past week, actually two interviews.  Does anyone else walk away from an interview feeling like their mouths were on overdrive and their brain was in park?    The one job I really want is the one I think I didn't do as well on, and the other job that I really don't care about is the one I did fine in.  Doesn't that figure?

Anyway, lots of applications out there in places unknown, two interviews, and no offers as of yet.  I keep reading articles that nurses will be in great demand very soon.  I know I will get something at somepoint but frustration sets in.

To those of you who are also looking - good luck to you.  We are in the same boat so let's hope it doesn't sink.

To those of you who found a job - congrats!

What a very encouraging post! And yes, we all leave interviews feeling we could have done better. Continue with your positive energy. It will take you far!

I feel your pain. I left an interview last year when I was in nursing school for a job as an STNA for a large hospital thinking two minutes into it, "Can I let myself out now?" It gets better. Practice interview questions with a friend/family member. You will get it. I am currently going through the same thing!

Never Give Up!

Thank you for the link, HerbalNurse.  I appreciate any help I can get!  I get over-excited so easily, and my excitement tends to lead to interview faux pas - hands moving, mouth running.  I just can't wait to get my new life started!

" Yes, there are occasions when LPNs are called-in for interviews,( some of them are called-in ,groups of 5-6 at a time);

  ** depending on the posted,job description, and limited positions that actually are available,it remains to be seen if

   the potential employer," really is interested",in what you have to say. Somtimes,the same position is repeatedly posted

    for weeks,on end.( Why? I don't know.) While the nurse's resume is,"being scrutinized",on one end of the wall,

    ***there's,"lots of shop-talk",that takes place when 5 or more nurses gather to be interviewed,in the same gathering spot.

    *** Hmmn...if only those walls could talk..." I shall forever,"take the 5th."                                          Nine Lives.
