NursingLink has a wealth of information for nursing interviews, but do you have information about interviews you can share that could help others land a jobs?

Anybody who can share their experience or possible nursing interview questions?

I appreciate your help!

You know, on a personal level, and from the heart, going for an interview can be scary. When you bring a positive energy to an interview, you also bring attraction. I read some on the Law of Attraction, and it is some pretty good stuff.

Going into an interview unsure of yourself is a negative. Positive energy will take you far...

i always dress for success!! even when you just go get an application dress like your going to interview that day you never know if they have a few free minutes.  just be yourself and depending on the amount of experience you have my also play a role on which position you interview for.  with both of my jobs they asked me what shifts i wanted of course i wanted first shift but that isnt always going to happen for a new grad like i was so i told them whatever shift they needed covered i could do...any experience is better than no experience.  they liked my attitude and I was offered the first shift position because of my honesty.  Also after you interview send a thank you card thanking them for your time :) a thank you goes a very long way

good luck

All very good ideas. I personally had an experience at an interview where I got the job and lost the job all in the same interview. I came in very positive. We talked a little about my experience. How I related to the surgeons and anesthesiologists. I told her a funny story about what one of  the surgeons said to me when I was first learning. She laughed. I told her another humerous incident. She laughed. She took me on a tour of the facility. She said I think you will fit in just fine here. And then on the advise of my friends I was honest with her and told her the reason I left my last job. I did not have to. She did not ask. I asked her "Don't you want to know why I left my last job? She said only if you want to tell me. The reason I left my flast job was I had a falling out with my boss. My boss and I were, before this, very good friends we went on ski trips together for a week at a time three years in a row. We did a group trip to Mexico for a week. We rode bikes together, wen to parties, to Happy hour etc. Then our friendship went by the wayside. I got a terrible evaluation.. all personal stuff. Then I got fired shortly after that for "inappropriate documentation".  Anyway. I started the interview on a happy, positive note and ended it on a negative, sad note. I had that job. and Lost that job. Don't do what I did. Always, Always leave them smiling!

Discussing difficulties involving a previous boss can sometimes send a message that you don't want to send to the potential boss.

Would it look really bad if you called back to get the correct spelling of an interviewer's name?  Right after the interview I tried calling the front desk thinking they would have a directory of each floor but the person who answered said they aren't given that type of information (???) but she could transfer me to that floor.  I was hoping i would get someone else when she transferred but i ended up speaking to the same person whose name i was looking for!!!   I hope i didnt' screw up my chances

Can someone direct me to the interview tips articles? I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong, but I've tried searching under different tabs and can't find what I'm looking for. I read a really good one a few weeks ago, and now I can't seem to find it. How do I go about finding a particular article in search? Thanks!
