Posted over 2 years ago Hello everyone, I just need a few opinions all are welcome. I started out in Allied Health is high school and got certified as a CNA, I work at a few different places when I decided to go back to school for medical/dental office specializing; that is what it's called when you lack the lab aspects of it got a diploma. After that I worked doing home health care and then finally moved out of state, I been in the current state for almost 10 yrs where as I never work in a med clinic or dental but the experience was great, however looking back on it realize that it was a waste of money because right now I work for the state and you don't need a degree all you need is a high school diploma or GED to work as a Admin assistant. I Started going to college online part time majoring in psy. but now it's on hold for a few different reasons. Now i'm ready to return back to school and stuck at a cross road trying to decide on continueing my psy degree or get into a LPN or Nursing program. What do you all think your opinion will be greatly appreciated???

| Posted over 2 years ago You really can't do much with a major in psych until you obtain a masters degree or PhD and then, job opportunities are limited. I would suggest you consider pursuing nursing for greater employment opportunities. Many get a BSN in nursing with a minor in psychology. This seems to be a good possible career choice for you. HTH |

| Posted over 2 years ago KDG123, I think it would be a good idea for you to find a career coach, or someone that can get to the "core" of your passion and what you really want to do. You know, I believe you are creative resourceful, and whole, and you have the answer inside you for what you really want to do. Finding what YOU really want to do can be unlocked by someone asking you the right questions, and you having your "aha" moment. Joyce Harrell, RN, OCN

| Posted over 2 years ago Yes, talking with someone who can set you on the path of what is important to YOU, is key. People can tell you what they think you should do, but really, you have the answers within you, and just need someone to get to the heart of your goals and dreams. Joyce Harrell, RN, OCN
