3. What do you wish you would have known going into this profession? (when starting school), (when starting your career(job)? |

| Posted over 2 years ago I wish I had gone ahead and gone to grad school to become a nurse practitioner. Honestly, I wish I had been more focused and gone to med school right out of high school. Then when I did finish nursing school, I wish I would have realized that my passion for natural things could have blended with my nursing. I always thought I had to be a nurse, or promote integrative therapies, but not both at the same time. Now, I look and find there are nurses like me out there promoting "integrative" care. In the area where I live, I am still very much a pioneer. Looked at as being "odd" for not embracing blindly things like polypharmacy. Joyce Harrell, RN, OCN

| Posted over 2 years ago I wish I would have known how to get my act together with personal problems so I could have succeeded with my career goals from the beginning. People preached at me but nobody offered any help or advice on how to obtain any help. |

| Posted over 2 years ago Maire,
What career goals? What kept you from them and how did you finally get it together? |

| Posted over 2 years ago I don't know if career goals ever end, at least until you retire, if you are constantly growing. I think nursing is a profession where we are ever learning, and always adding to our growth. I love it. When I get settled into my new job, I will be going back to school Joyce Harrell, RN, OCN
