I know of a nurse who made one mistake.  She stated she had completed an advanced degree when she did not.  She submitted this bad information to her employer.  Later regretting her decision she self reported to the board of nursing.  She had an administrative action against her license (fine and CEUs) and has not done anything since this occurence but work.

She is looking for a new position, has been honest about past mistake to people she talks with-highlighting it was against herself, never hurting a patient & assumed her error-but no one wants to talk with her.  This will follow her forever.  Any ideas on what she can do?

I think it may be difficult, but honesty is the best way to be, and someone will give this nurse an opportunity, and it will be because of the ingegrity being used now. I would hire this person as it was a self-reported situation.
