Posted over 2 years ago I have graduated from nursing school since 2001, it has been long time after school. I took the NCLEX-RN exam 5-6 times, and the scores are getting better each time, but not passing. Can someone please help me, I am really desperate and want to become a licensed RN. Please help me! |

| Posted over 2 years ago When was the last time you took the NCLEX? If you graduated in 2001, I wonder if you can go back to the school you graduated from and if you could sit in as an "audit" status. I am not sure about this, but I would also check with the state where you live and see what the time limit is that you need to pass the NCLEX from the time you graduate. Is there a statue of limitations? 10 years is a long time to have taken nursing school, and then try to pass an NCLEX. Basic A&P has not changed, but there are many things that have changed. That is why nurses have to take continuing education to keep up with changes and new trends. Joyce Harrell, RN, OCN

| Posted over 2 years ago I would seriously consider a review course such as Kaplan or Hurst to give you a boost in the right direction. And do not give up. You will pass as long as you keep trying, but don't wait forever between retakes. Give yourself no more than three months study time from one attempt to the next. |

| Posted almost 2 years ago I have also been out of school for a while and a LVN. I've also taken the boards many times and failed but I won't give up. I've learned I've forgotten the nursing process which the test is about. There are flashcards, books on delegation etc. I'm told its easier with a study partner if you can find one. We can do it, it will just take more dedication on our part and I'm told the Hurst review is good. I've taken a couple of review but I believe I had really given up and my self esteem was gone. I agree with Maire and don't allow other to deter you. Good luck |
