Posted over 2 years ago I am currently enrolled in a Associate's degree program to become an RN. I also plan to pursue a BSN. I know that after I complete my Associate's degree requirements that I will have to take the NCLEX exam. Will I have to take the exam again after I receive my BSN? Thanks. |

| Posted over 2 years ago I can only speak from my experience, but unless other states are different, No, you take the NCLEX after your ADN schooling. You don't take another board after your BSN. Joyce Harrell, RN, OCN

| Posted over 2 years ago Thank you, Joyce. I appreciate your response to my question. I have been wondering about that for the past few weeks. I just began my pursuit of my Associate's degree last week. I am currently enrolled in a Nurse Aid training class so that I can work as a CNA until I complete the requirements for my Associate's degree. I have to take 4 or 5 terms worth of prereqs before I can get on the waiting list to begin my nursing classes. Once I get on the waiting list, I plan to take classes that will count toward my BSN. So, I am excited to learn all that I can to become a successful nurse (as this will be my second career). Once again, thank you very much. |
