I have been a med-surg nurse for one year. I am not a spring chicken at 47 years old, so I would like to get into another field. However, I was recently injured by the dialysis doors at my facility slamming shut on me and since I went on workman's comp, suddenly the great job I was doing-the powers that be now thought I was failing at everything and to make a long story short-it got soooo bad I quit-now I want to get into hospice or home health or maybe even become an enterostomal nurse, but I don't know where to start- any suggestions?

how long have you been a nurse? there are a few options; you could join an agency that staffs facilities nand does home care too, that way you could "sample" a few different areas; you could join a local nursing association and may have avenues open through membership. happy hunting and healing!

Thank you for your advise Kathie. I have only been a nurse for 1 year. I have joined two agencies, but they have yet to put me to work. I am supposedly going to a hospital downtown around Feb 14th. That seems so far away. We are not hurting for money. My husband makes good money and the only debt we have is my medical bills. Our house and cars are paid for. But, there is a lot of remodeling I want to do to our house. I have put in a lot of applications, but I have not found what I am looking for. Pray for me! Thanks so much.
