What was your roughest day in clinicals?

Posted over 2 years ago I just had such a rough clinical day.It was my second day on the floor and I had three patients, had to complete written head to toe assessments and careplans for each patient and pass meds on two of them which included hanging piggybacks and flushes. (All for the first time) The paperwork alone was a bit overwhelming, then one of my patients ripped out her iv and i had to start a new line but couldn't get it..... :( Super long and rough day. Not to mention that my son was up the entire night before because he was sick. Can anybody else relate to having rough days while in clinicals? I think it would just help to know I'm not alone!! :) |

| Posted over 2 years ago I have been a nurse over 20 years, and still have shifts that go slow, and I feel like I am behind, and well, it just happens to us all!!! Check out that great article, and also agreeing with Teresah! It will get better. You know how simple your ABC's are right now? There was a time when those seemed overwhelming. You will do great. Hang in there! Joyce Harrell, RN, OCN
