Posted about 2 years ago I applied to Mercer Nursing School a couple of months ago and found out that a few people have received acceptance letters. Now I am anxiously checking my mail every day to see if I get a letter. Has anyone else applied for the 2011 fall class at Mercer University?? |

| Posted about 2 years ago Hi Beth! So did you call Mercer and ask about your application? Who did you speak to? This waiting is crazy. I start my spring quarter classes next week so at least that will keep my mind busy while I wait? Have you finished all your pre-reqs?

| Posted about 2 years ago i'm right there with you... I've applied to two CC's in my area and already got a denial letter from one... and right now i'm not too positive about the second one.. the deadline was 3/15 and i know ppl recieved acceptance letters with in two days. They have orientaion on Tuesday so I'm trying to stay positive that i'm at least an alternant but i'm honestly on the low side of positive. I wish they could just tell you when you call to find out whats going on.. instead of putting everyone through this heck lol. |

| Posted about 2 years ago OMG, nyanbenmommy1 Ihope and pray that you receive a letter stating that you are accepted in to school.. You know God works in strange ways. It may or may not be your time to go to school.. But god has a plan for you..Keep trying to get accepted. I know around here most colleges have a waiting list of 2-5 years. And we are neighbors 1 town over. Don't get discouraged I'm sure you'll be in nursing not to long in the near future..Hugs,Teresa |

Hey, Robin.... Sorry I made you think it was Mercer. It's a community college in Kentucky. I was only responding to the thread of having to wait. My apologies. I only have Micro to finish and then there's nothing left for me to take but nursing classes. Let me know when you get your letter. The scream you hear from Kentucky will be me after I get my letter....hopefully! |

| Posted about 2 years ago Okay, it was posted on our information network today.....I was turned down for the RN program. I was given the opportunity to apply to two programs, so I thought considering the competition, I might better include the LPN program. I am alternate (3) for this fall. I'm trying to be hopeful, but not get too excited. I plan on bridging later, but there are alot (maybe 1000) of applicants at my college due to the price, $130 an hour. So, what do you all think? |

I'm sorry that you were turned down though.. Maybe it might be a good thing to take the LPN and then bridge the RN |

| Posted about 2 years ago There were over a 1000 applicants, most with gpa's near 4.0...it was going to be a long shot. Some friends of mine had much better scores and they were turned down, too. So, God has a plan. I'm still excited at the posibility of going. |

| Posted about 2 years ago Being an alternate is good. Many people drop by the wayside for whatever reason. Things like, they apply to every school, and get accepted in all, so then they have to drop the others. I have several friends who were alternates, and they all got in. We will keep our fingers crossed! Joyce Harrell, RN, OCN

| Posted about 2 years ago (1) Not sure how much this will help you, but I finished my first 2 years of school (using nursing prerequisites), before I matriculated. I had to by then, because we began clinicals. (2) Check with the nursing school and see if you can make an appointment with one of the faculty members to see if there are any alternative routes that are acceptable/available at that school. They could have something that is not heavily advertised that you can only find out about if they tell you or you ask and they tell you (like government grants :-) (3) If you are interested in something like psych nursing and can afford an extra year, try a double-major in psych and nursing, working on your psych major until accepted by the nursing program.
