Posted over 2 years ago Hey everybody, I have a quick question. I was born a pre-mature baby (1 pound and 13 ounces) and was wondering what are the physical and mental effects contributed to being born in a premature state of birth later on in life? Also I want to be a neonatal nurse later on, and was wondering how I could go about that? |

| Posted over 2 years ago I am not an neonatal specialist, so I'm not going to tackle your first question. The second question, if you haven't completed nursing school, you need to look into what you need to do to complete that. All nurses get basic training, then if you want to specialize, you would start working in an area of that specialty. There are CEU and special courses in whatever specialty you choose to work in.

| Posted over 2 years ago Hiya, I to am not a neonatal specialist either.. However, I can tell you what I know.. My mom was carring twins, and at 6 months, lost a little boy.. When they went ot do a D&C they found out that she was still carring another little boy.. My brother was born 3 1/2 lmonths premature.. He weighed 3 # at birth and spent a very long time in NICU.. Now 56 years later, He not only is 6' tall and 200 #, he has recieved his AS and BS through FSU. I think that you can go to school for whatever you want. I don't remember him having any further difficulties that any one else.. Best of luck to you in your future endeavors.. Teresa |
