Posted about 2 years ago I'm so sick of feeling that the managements of hospitals, Nursing homes and other agencies never notice the good things that Nurses do for people, they only notice if there is a mistake. Unfortunately we are only human and in the midst of kaos when a nurse is overwhelmd with multiple tasks this is a reality. We cannot function as a Secretary answering phones, Nurse passing meds, managing a 75bed unit and responsible for getting maintenance, housekeeping and cnas to do their jobs. How do we stop this Nurse abuse in the age of cut backs and balancing the buget on our backs? |

| Posted about 2 years ago It really takes extraordinary people to be good nurses. I always remembered this saying as a child "When I do something good, no one notices. But when I make a mistake, everyone notices." Have you tried speaking with your manager or possibly HR about your frustrations? At least you can take solace in the fact that you are helping people who truly need your help. Editor, NursingLink.com

| Posted about 2 years ago I think your frustration is felt by nurses all over. You aren't alone. I think the move that some hospitals are making toward Magnet Status will hopefully bring some attention back to nurses in a positive manner. Joyce Harrell, RN, OCN

| Posted about 2 years ago I have been a nurse for many years. I really can't say many good things about the politics. Nurse have to prove themselves innocent. Work long hours with out a break. When one makes a mistake one is told, sorry having three admits on your unit is no excuse to make a mistake, And they fry you for it. I wish I never would have gone into nursing. I should have went to college to be something else. Nurses even set each other up. When are nurses going to stick together and fight for a better working enviroment????? |

| Posted about 2 years ago amg145, I'm so vry sorry that you have had these expierences. There has to be some one that you may discuss this issue with like maybe the nurse manager. Although I have never worked the floor per se, I can honestly say that I've been blessed to work as a team member..Nursing takes someone special and it sounds like you are very special..Please don't give up..Maybe a change in units might help..I don't know, but I wish you the very best..Hugs,Teresa |
