Can someone please tell me the difference between a CNA and an RNA?

I think it's just two diffrent certification boards. For example there are Certified Medical Assistants(CMA) and Registered Medical Assistants(RMA) there is no difference in duties just two different certification boards. Hope this helps. If all else fails google it. That is unless it's getting confused with CRNA which is a Certified Nurse Anesthetist.

I have never heard of an RNA either unless your talking biology.

There is a difference between a CNA and an RMA. RMA's are not certified to give basic patient care such as bathing, ADL's, transferring and so forth. CNAs are not certified to give medications. RMA's in some circumstances are trained to give injections. They can take vital signs, perform EKGs, and so some simple lab tests such as a urine dipstick. They do a lot of doctor's office work that used to be done by nurses. Their job scope is not interchangeable.

RNA is Restorative nurse aide. You usually have to be a CNA already and add to your credentials. What an RNA does is rehabilitive care, and has a more extensive knowledge and ability to perform ROM on patients.
