Have you ever displayed your crafts at a craft fair, if so, when and where?

Not a fair, per se. I sold greeting cards at the vegetable stand. Leila

I once entered a contest as a kid and won first place for a Mother's Day Card.

No I havent but Im thinking about going on EBay to sell Antler Jewlery. Its not as bad as it sounds. We bye white tail deer antlers from ebay and then we make jewlery, smoking pipes of all kinds knifes and so on. We do chinees symbols what ever you want. But if you might be interested to all my nurse link friends everyone gets a discount price first one ,and anybody who gets me more people they get theres free, second one. Give me some ideas of what you might like, necklace, bracelet, earings, pipes to smoke or just todisplay, key chains. E-mail either at nurselink or at maria.woodard@yahoo.com. Thanks Maria

I had a business drying and dying flowers for a while. I sold them to the flower shops and made arrangements to sell at Warsaw, MO local craft fair. I really enjoyed it and could even employ my children who were rather small at the time!

yes-I use to make & sell dried floral arrangements at craft shows and rented a booth at a craft store for a while. I didn't make much money but it was alot of fun. My daugher would help me at the shows. (I made my daughter's bridal bouquet.) She moved back home and I had nowhere to do it but I'm thinking about doing it again.

Currently craftless, no room, gave my sewing machine (a bernina I could kick myself) to my step mom because I couldn't fit it in my car. Hopefully soon, I'll be back sewing.

My mom taught me to knit and crochet. I mend things but don't really sew. I made my daughter moccasins for Native American Day in Jr. High. Her feet were too large for the pattern and I had to just wing it. Working with leather or suede is difficult. I have made craft items and enjoyed doing so when I had more time.

My mom sewed beautifully. When I was growing up, she made all my clothes. I don't have the patience for it. I can hem and mend and that's it.

Don't give up CD, my first knitting project was supposed to be a scarf and wound up being a hat. It takes more attention and time and effort than crocheting. I prefer crocheting and can sit there and crochet and watch TV or have a conversation. I have not gotten good enough at knitting to watch TV and knit.

What I appreciate the most about knitting or crocheting is that my mom and I spent a lot of time together before she ever got sick crocheting. I have most of her needles, hooks and yarn in my closet awaiting me when I feel up to taking them up again. It is hard to pick up a hook and a ball of yarn without thinking of all the time we spent making gifts together. I have a hat and scarf set she made my daughter when she was 4 years old and will always treasure. I think that is one of the wonderful things about being able to make something by hand; you have love stitched into the item.

I have an afghan that was made for me nearly 30 years ago. I cannot give it up because I know it was made with love.

I have never had the talent for crocheting or knitting although I would love to be able to crochet especially. One of my best friends made my little girl a crocheted blanket when she was born and I love it, wish I could do it but my only talent is my photography! I love it and I am told I am good at that so that is what I do.

I started crocheting when I was a small girl but I always wanted to learn to knit. My mom was a seamstress and was unbelievably talented. She did beading on bridal gowns.I married my husband some 30 years ago and his mother was also a seamstress. I spent most of my life surrounded by all of these talented women but never learned to knit. Unfortunately, they allpasses before I could be taught. So I bought a book to teach myself. Somehow everything I make has turned into a scarf. I am having funwith it . Someday I may graduate to winter hats. Who knows miracles never cease. Aloha

I can not knit......I have tried, over and over and over again. Had someone a long time ago, try and teach me, some how I purled backwards. I start out fine and then something in my brain turns it all around it's just plain weird! I have no talent for it. I can crochet sort of, as long as it's nothing complicated.

I love crocheting, I have made each of my kids a blanket, and now am making one for my grandbaby due in March! I love macrame, ceramics, beading and most other crafts. I learned to sew from my Grandmother, but have not had a machine that works - or time to use one for a while!!! (Must be the nursing school syndrome!)

I admire anyone that can crochet and knit, my grandmother tried to teach me, but I couldnt get it. When my grandaughter wanted to learn I went to Walmart and bought a book for her, and the sales lady taught her.

breadrsn, when you are ready, start with one stitch to crochet. Perfect that simple stitch and then learn another. I could never read and understand the books. My mom showed us the first basic stitch and we made keychains and head bands. I taught myself the doublestitch and we figured out the seashell stitch together. I can not follow a pattern; but my hands just seem to know when to add or drop a stitch. My mom said I taught her stitches and had an aptitude for it. Of course I really can't knit, but crochet is relaxing. Start with a simple chain stitch. You can do one without a hook, it is similiar to a slipnot, you just keep pulling the yarn through but not too tight and leaving an opening to pull the next bit of yarn through. Best of luck.

I have tried crocheting and did okay but just couldnt stay with it. I do love to sew however and besides a small clothes sewing business, I love making quilts. My daughter is expecting her second child and I SO (or should I say SEW) look forward to making all sorts of things for the baby! Her oldest is nine... a daughter, Hailey who is showing some interests in crafts so I hope to be able to give her some direction soon. Stay with the crafting... it has been my sanity when I need it most!

Just in the short time that I have been sewing again I have found it to be a great way to relax. Sure beats sitting at this keyboard for hours.

I have tried to make a hat and it turned into a bowl-like object from outer space. I have been working on a blanket for years and it still not enough to cover my knees. Maybe I need to find some knitting buddies to motivate me.

When classes start, find the time, even if it is only30 minutes to chill at the keyboard or at the sewing machine. Gotta take time to chill.
