| Posted over 5 years ago Where are all the sewers and needle crafters gone? I was so stubborn that I would not learn from my grandmother who crocheted, knitted, sewed, tatted, embroidery. She had these beautiful pillow cases in which she embroidered the girl with her hat and long hair and the skirt of the dress was either tatted or crocheted in cotton thread yet. I have learned to knit and to sew but an no where near as talented as my grandma. She took two of my grandfather's shirts and made a dress for me when I was 8 or 9 so I could have a new dress for the first day of school. |

| Posted over 5 years ago This may sound crazy, but........you know I only really knew one or two stitches when it came to crocheting. My aunt passed away when I was young and I never got to learn more. I couldn't read and still can't read the patterns... well,, now that I am expecting my first grand daughter...I had to make something. Believe it or not, one day I was on www.youtube.com and did a search for crocheting. WOULD YOU BELIEVE they have videos! So guess what, I learned more stitches. They have things from the very basic stitch to more complicated. |
