I'm considering a home health case management position, but it seems a little 'strange' . . .

Posted over 5 years ago The interview went well, but I have no experience, and when I asked about mileage and salary (the position is for part time work) I was told that I would receive the information after my paper work was filed and I had gone through orientation. That seems a little strange/backward? Anyone else have any experience with this? |

| Posted over 5 years ago I find this very odd, they won't give you salary and mileage numbers now. By law they have to pay you for orientation hours worked, so I'd push for it, so they can't say, well you're only going to make 8/hr for orientation because you're not doing patient care. yep that's happened with home health. they'll pay you as little as they possibly can get away with. |

| Posted over 5 years ago Very odd. Some agencies pay "by the vist". Beware! That is a flat rate per visit with no milage and no overtime. You think it sounds good until you stop and think about the time spent traveling from pt to pt and remember the paperwork time. All unpaid. Follow up phone calls to lab, physician, recertifications, all unpaid..... Also time spent per visit can vary greatly and you can wind up making much less than by the hour with mileage. Do they have a policy of no discussion of salary with coworkers? If not maybe another nurse could help. |
