Posted over 1 year ago Okay, so today I went to my school and I checked out the nursing program. It looked awesome. However, I got a cold feet about the money aspect of nursing and the responisbility it comes with. I've been known to be responisble that's not the problem. I'm just getting a bit scared. This is where I become my worst enemy. Not only that, my friend, he scared me about learning how to do injections properly. He said if i didnt learn how to do it right and there's an air bubble I could kill someone. This freaked me out alot! This is where self-doubt begins to set in. Nurses did you guys ever feel like scared before joining or considering the job???? I'm not even in the program and im terrified. But i know myself....if i dedicate myself to something I can conquer!

| Posted over 1 year ago HIya, Welcome to NL..It's nice to meet you..So every thing in your life had to be learned.. Every grade in school, every task you have done.. My point is when you are in school for any subject, you practice and learn. As far as the airbubble goes, your needle would have to be in a vein or artery before you would kill the patient. It would also have to be a fairly large bubble .But you will learn how do do these tasks. I think it's the fear of the unknown that frightens students in any field..If you want to go into nursing, then do it. Tell your friendd, thank you but no thank you. If this is what you want to do, then do it.. Otherwise, later in life you may have the should of , could of, would of but didn't..And this site can help you also..So Good luck in whatever you do and may God Bless you in your future endeavors.. Please keep me posted. Hugs, Teresa |

| Posted over 1 year ago If you drive incorrectly or carelessly, you could kill someone, too. Are you giving up your drivers license? You can under-cook a burger and kill someone. Quit your job at McD's and cut out cook-outs? As Teresa said, train properly to do something, you should be able to do it well. I re-positioned my grandson before he was born because he had a foot on my daughter's nerve. I would not suggest that you do that now, but with time and training, you will be quite comfortable with it. If you want to do nursing, do it. If you are afraid of killing someone by your action or inaction, you are going to have a very boring life. Tell your friend thanks and go ask a nursing instructor.
