The school I am applying to administers the Kaplan pre-entrance exam for LPN. Does anyone have any inside info on this test. I am very confused with the book as it is on taking the state boards. I need to know what is on the test and the type of questions so I can study those items.

The test is getting closer (Nov. 14, 2011) and I am in panic mode.  I really want this more than anything.

you don't need to spend your hard earned money on all these 'study guides or courses' that everyone is advocating. ask any GOOD nursing instructor. you're wasting money and time. you went to school, apparently graduated and had to reach some level of competence to do that, so go back to one or all of your regular text books (that you paid for already) and, if there was one area that you had trouble with, then study that with a partner and quiz each other and take the test. all these online courses and book offer suggestions are all designed to take your money, they don't make you ANY smarter or a better practitioner if you use them and then happen to pass.

If you truly need to completely review every aspect of nursing along with it's rationale, maybe you shouldn't be taking the test to begin with. I am sorry, Theresa and any other bleeding heart out there, but seriously, you really need to use the resources you already have, (if you have them) and if you "slacked" in school like some in the past have said, then how in God's name did you graduate in the first place? I wouldn't want you taking care of me or one of my loved ones.

Just find out how soon the next test is and take it. if it takes 265 questions before your computer shuts off, it DOES NOT mean you failed, or you are stupid, or anything else. Just call the board or whatever your state's policy is and find out if you actually passed. relying on 'tricks' and 'error messages' might only lead to hearbreak if you misinterpret it or there is a mistake made. You might not see what you hope for, but don't break out the rope or razor blades (especially if it's not your first test) because your laptop or PC gives you potentially false info......call the board to clarify.

 To RussHenderson06

I wish I was through the schooling already but this post had nothing to do with after the schooling. Re-read the post. It has to do with the test to get into the classes. I am 45 years old and have been out of school awhile and the Kaplan test is just to get in and has very little to do with the nursing part. Once in I will have no problem because I probaly know more than Ia student that just finished the course. I have been in the field for many years.
