Why all of a sudden are we having shootings and hostage situations all over the states. The news is full of it. It's not a full moon.... Do these people get the idea from watching the news or what?

I live in Chicago and we have had 2 major shootings ( aside from the ones that don't make national headlines ) in our area. The first was at a Lane Bryant that left 5 people dead. The second was at NIU ( where many people from my area attend ) leaving 5 dead as well. We also had a man set his 4 and 6 year old sons on fire and both died from the incident. This has all happened with in the past month. I think I even recall 2 seperate hostage situations since the beginning of the yaar. I don't know why all of these situations have come about. I do know that people with mental illness often don't recieve the treatment they need. As we all know, meds can be very expensive. Sometimes we fall into a situation where we are unable to attain the meds we need whether its for a simple infection or to control bipolar disorder. The mentally ill need more support to deal with their illness. And the family of mentally ill need support as well. Anyone who has a relative that deals with this illness is also affected. I know from experience. Anyways that is my theory of why these tragedys have been happening in my area. Thank you for reading my statement. I have been having a tough time dealing with these killings, especially with the students at NIU and Virginia Tech. I mean they were just kids! Sad......
