Posted over 1 year ago Recedivistic and other Patients often come through the ER stating that they've overdosed on one thing or another. Tylenol has been one OTC med identified, so an acetaminophen level is taken. Among other things, Mucomyst therapy is initiated if the level is too high, and no more Tylenol is prescribed. If the level is within norms, the Docs often prescribe Tylenol routinely PRN pain or fever. And, yes, you're correct, goin2B- all medications are closely monitored so there should never be any problem under controlled circumstances.

Posted over 1 year ago Mucomist it is. Therre is nothing like that rotten smelling, gagging dark liquid to allivate your lungs shutting down before you... Also not for the mucomist, but for the Tylenol overdose, you can also destroy your liver.... Hugs, Teresa Oh , how do I know this,?, I worked Trauma for the first 20 years of my career and then I taught nursing for 16 years... Now I teach advanced live saving techniques. You really will like me when you get to know me... LOL I'm not a pompus a###### , really, really.. Hugs, Teresa BTW, TTYL, , very soon., Teresa

Posted over 1 year ago Did they admit the patient to a Psyche Unit or did they just give them tylenol and send them home? If you overdose on a certain medication for a sucide attempt a doctor usually does not prescribe the same medication. If the patient was in a hospital and monitored that would be ok. I really hope the patient was admitted somewhere for depression or whatever was wrong. Joni
