Posted over 1 year ago For some patients it is a great concern. I have witness that in the facility that work. I had a patient who rather died instead of having a male nurse taking care of her. At grelu(dot)com, we, as a professional female nurses, have been discussing this issue for a while now. What do you think guys ??? |

| Posted over 1 year ago I realize the question is on Male or Female Nurses, but really, the gender has little affect on my preference. The personality is something I'm more discriminating towards. You know, if the Nurse is considerate and caring. |

| Posted over 1 year ago I would be happy with a male or female nurse, if they are up-to-date on care, have a sense of humor, look you straight in the eyes, and treat you as a human and not the ovary in room 312. In long term care, all of us, from CNAs to RNs were female. However, one day, this fantastic handsome male nurse was hired. One of my residents (a female) came to my office and said, "Things are really looking up around here. That nurse is so good looking". I laughed and agreed with her. It is never too late in life to enjoy "window shopping". |
