i graduated nursing in philippines couple years ago. i applied for nclex rn.after sending their requirements, my file got evaluated and unfortunately they found it uneligible. they said that my theories are not concurrent on my clinicals. so they advised me to 1.challenge to take it from other state.(coz california is really a strict one.) 2. take lvn exam. so now i decided to challenge the NCLEX-LPN. im just wondering if anyone had this kind of case. and did board of vocational nursing counted you as eligible?what are the requirements?

please help me!!!!!!!

thank you...

hello there well my brother and i recently ran into the same problem. we recieved letter from the board about a month ago saying we needed to take med surg and obstetrics to meet the requirements. so right now we are trying to decide what to do whether to challenge the lvn board, or go back to school, or even maybe go back to the phil and take the nclex there if that is even a option.  anyways we still have a lot of questions that were unanswered by the CBON like what exactly is wrong or will challenging the lvn board even work since we are apparently lacking those 2 classes. anyways if u have any updates we will also keep you updated with any progress because it looks like we will be needing all the help we can get. good luck

Contact the nursing board- LPN education is generally one year, with a certain number of hours required. Perhaps you have enough to take the test for that but not for the RN. Don't think that there is much varience between states these days since the NCLEX is national and the accrediting bodies such as NLN are national. Your post is not too clear about what you are asking but contact your board for an application. Here in my state LPN and RN start out together in many schools and go through the first year together, then RNs continue on and LPNs do some specialty requirements and then graduate at the end of the year.
