hello,i have a er job interview next week. i am terrified of interviews. i want this job really bad.it seems like thats all i talk about with the other nurses i work with. and they are like go apply for an er positon,bt you have to be ready for the questions and peer interview questioning.. my goal is to become a flight nurse within 5 yrs of being a er nurse bt i have to get there first. i have 2yrs of rn experince in a small abulatory surgery center that i am a pre-op nurse, recovery, circulator an when there are emergencies because we haave a small er,im on it bt nothing serious. i want to broaden and be able to use my critical thinking skills. i have also done pediatrics as an lpn for 5yrs. please someone help me here..i need and want this job like yesterday! :)

mzrn2u, It sounds like you have great expienence.. I also was a trauma nurse for 20 years.. To me there's nothing like ER nursing.. Yes, I'm a trauma junkie.. Best of luck on your interview..I suggest you continue to take training and CEU's with regards to ER patients.. Please keep us posted..Teresa

mzrn2u, Hiya, Unfortunately there is no specific rule to ace an interview..However, you can be forth coming, excited and truthful.. Remember, they will eventually find out if you color the truth a bit..A good attitude, expierence, the willingness to learn, a team player but one that can also work indepentdantly, a history of great attendance and continued time on past positions is a great start..(Those are some of the qualities, I look for). Best of luck for you..  This is the week, get a good nights sleep before and go refreshed, ready and looking professional.. Perhaps, you can practice your interview questions before you get there..Teresa  Need I say, Pleaqse keep us posted.

Any other nurses that can give pointers here on this post, please feel free to assist...Hugs
