Hello All,

Today I would like to do a quick review of the Littman Electronic Stethatscope 3100. I have owned this stethaschope since Christmas and have logged about 100 hours on it. This is my first Littman product and it was received as a gift. These stethascope retail for about $400.00 but can easily be found online thru a distruter for $300.

Build: 

Like all Littmann products, the quality of the materials and textures are appearnt. My only other stethascope was one given to us from my school. Comparing the two is difficult because they are ment to target 2 completely different markets. However, looking at the Littmann by itself it is easy to see the quality. The Chrome and feel of the buttons is perfect and very Ipod like.

Weight:

A concern of some is the weight of a E.S. Don't be. While it is heavier than my last one, the difference is only noticable when comparing the two. We are talking about a couple of oz. not lbs.

B+

Sound:

As someone that has spent an obscene amount of time blasting my music loudly as a child, I must admit that my hearing is not the greatest. I'm not deaf by any stretch of the imagination but I always had difficulty hearing lung sounds and heart sounds. With this bad boy, be prepared to hear everything. I tend to listen with the volume at 50% and heart and lung sounds come thru sounding like a drum beat on your favorite song.

Do I recommend:

Whole heartedly yes. It makes everything so much clearer and so much louder. I promise you that anything higher than 75% is too loud to listen to. I love it and its one of the best purchases I have ever made.
