Does the military still need nurses?

Posted 12 months ago I was just wondering how important it is for the armed forces to still recruit nurses. I know a few years ago there was a massive shortage and they were begging for nurses. But, i also know that turned into a huge influx of nurses entering the military with major incentives and bonuses given. Is that still true? I am planning on going into the Air Force. I am 43 years old, have my BSN, over 10 years experience doing ER & Trauma, and the last 3 years I've been in Utilization Review & Management. I was told a week ago that they could use me regardless of my age and that my experience would be needed. But where? I was informed I would hear from someone within the next couple of weeks but I don't want to get my hopes up. What are my chances? |
