Posted 12 months ago So what would you do? For what it's worth, my answer is the third to last one. War may be hell, but that doesn't mean I need to fan the flames. The reason I'm asking this is because I just read the position statement from the International Council of Nurses in Geneva which reads in part:
"The ICN Code of Ethics for Nurses states that …the fundamental responsibility of the nurse is to promote health, prevent illness, to restore health and to alleviate suffering. However we recognise that nurses are sometimes called upon to perform physical examinations before prisoners’ interrogation and torture, to attend torture sessions in order to provide care, and/or to treat theeffects of torture."

| Posted 5 months ago I can't just look at people being hurt physically despite what they did! I think I'm not in the position to judge them whatsoever, so If ever I am given the chance to work as a nurses who assist with torture/interrogation, I will never take take the opportunity! I think It will just give me sleepless night and nightmares! |
