I have read about this very recently.

Foreign applicants, US applicants with DUI's dated as far as space age getting denied, all application and re-testing issues and inconsistencies - is it possible that these all boils down to CA BRN being non-existent?

Please read about this.

If you are fully aware of the Sunset Provision concerning the CA BRN, your information will be very much appreciated.

Thank you.

Hi Teresa, it's the Sunset provision of the California BRN.

And if you go to: http://www.rn.ca.gov/index.shtml

under the What's New box, you will see this:

Governor Brown signed Senate Bill 98 on February 14, 2012, which restores the Board of Registered Nursing and establishes a sunset date of January 1, 2016.

Based on my research (I stand corrected if I misunderstood anything=),

there was a point in time (Nov 2011-Feb 2012) when the CA BRN was dissolved.

I am thinking whether the licensing & enforcement functions of the CA BRN, which were transferred temporarily to the Department of Consumer Affairs brought about these licensing application inconsistencies? Or if it was the reason that stricter enforcement of licensing regulations are now being implemented by the reinstated CA BRN?

I am also wondering if the higher authorities of CA BRN are aware of these inconsistensies brought about by their being "lax" prior to November 2011 vs them being more strict after? It's a huge institution, it's possible that the higher (highest!) ups are not even aware of these inconsistensies because no one had the time & guts to bring these to their attention? This is why I am researching on this extensively. I am planning on appealing to the higher ups of the CA BRN and if I don't get an impartial response, I will be compelled to escalate this to an Office above CA-BRN. It's not a matter of whining and crying foul, but finding a solution to an impartial & inconsistent enforcement of established rules which adversely affects HONEST foreign graduates.

Any information/clarification/ideas will be greatly appreciated.

Lol, Teresa. THanks.

I'd like to believe that I am a proactive person.

Yes, I am going to complain for a day or 2, but I believe that talking alone does not solve anything.

WALKING YOU TALK & DOING something to alleviate your situation feels a lot better. =)

Hello!

No. I'm merely making assumptions based on the latest CA BRN happenings.

I'm not sure of what you mean by "re-apply".

If you mean you failed the exam yet you have an active file with the CA BRN, you do not need to re-apply as in gathering & submitting all the requirements from scratch, having your school send your paperworks to the CA-BR etc. All you to do is to submit an accomplished re-test form with your payment. Then you will know what your fate will be.
