I graduated from high school here in california and i plan to return home to the Philippines and study nursing there but i wanna know if (let's say i finish my studies) degree will count if i return here in America because i dont wanna go back to the philippines knowing i wasted a huge chunk of time studying nursing in the Philippines only to find out it doesnt count here in the US. (I'm planning on attending the University of the Philippines)

I dont know really know how all of this works and i'm new to this site.

the BSN in the PHIL is equivalent to ADN in CAL...wherein BSN is 4 years but ADN is 2 years...so meaning to say a Bachelor degree from PHIL is equivalent to Associate degree..yeah akward huh...your BSN will count in some areas like CNA,and LVN not so sure about RN...at times the board might ask for CGFNS...I hope this helped...

5 years BSN now in PHIL...upon your last sem i advise you to apply NCLEX RN in PHIL..talk to instructors and/or classmates im sure there are a few immigrants/us citizens there that will be in the same situation as you..

requirements:

ssn,passport,US address for NCLEX application

NCLEX review(CA/US approved)

good luck!!!!

Gabrielle, I would ask the CBON exactly how it would be the same or different.. I believe in going directly to the "horses mouth' and not the

"I thinks" .Rules seem to change so frequently there in Cal. that I would just get the most current rules before applying and going like you said.. Best of luck.. Let us know the requirements for real please...Teresa
