Posted 11 months ago I have been a nurse for many years but I have just taken a chance on turning my CEU's in to the Board. In Iowa we have to have 36 CEU credits within our 4 yr license. When I look at the CEU books, they read for example "completion of test good for 0.5 CEU's." Does this mean I have to have 72 of these classes with 0.5 (1/2 of one credit) CEU's????? Can someone PLEEZ explain this to me? Or is it 0.5 means 5 credits? (I hope so) I would be doing CEU's forever! |

| Posted 11 months ago BSN student... You were right the first time... If you take CEU's @ .5 / class, you will need 72 different classes... There are many places on line that you can take. some of them with way more units per class. Each class is assigned units/ difficulty and depth. Also, they rate them with the approx. hours it should take you to complete the class.. This is sometimes but not always.. None-the-less, they are "continuing education units/credits"...All licensed persons in many different job capacities are required to take them. BTW, not just the medical field... So, best of luck to you and please keep us posted...(I do mine over the years, so there aren't so many to get at the last minute...) Teresa |

| Posted 11 months ago Hiya, I think most licenses are up for renewal in 2013... Anyway, I try to take a couple each year so I am not overwhelmed.. Don't forget there are conferences that you can go to, learn, get ceu's, have fun, and meet great people... Like a working vacation... Have fun... Hugs,Teresa |
