I have been in the health field all my adult life...CNA/HHA/LPN......I believe that we are all on the same team as the RN, PT, OT,ST, MD.,ARNP, PA.and so on.  One cannot do well without the others.  Most LPN's I know, myself included, can run circles around most RN's I Know...and I Know many. I Have worked in th ER,LTC,REHAB,SUB ACUTE,ALF,HOMECARE AND PSYCH,I have also worked as a Travel Nurse with contracts @ John Hopkins in Baltimore, and Windermere @ Oak Bluffs in Marthas Vineyard as well as other locations.  The biggest problem I have encountered has been, when I advoate for my patients, as far as their rights.  One day it will be me and I hope there will be a nurse doing the same. I have been terminated for standing up for someones rights ,and I gladly give the report, keys and my goodbye..seeya..wouldn't wan to be ya!  I respect all other disciplines and expect the same back. This is not about us, but someday it will or might be...it is about the ones we care for, and assist in getting better maybe reaching thier independence from us, guiding them to a healthier life so that they can enjoy, but always respecting their rights..So I am not just a Lower Paid Nurse and deffinitely not a Pee-on..I am a well educated, caring, nuturing, experienced NURSE..and I will  not let what others say affect me in my Nursing Journey....it is my Life!:)
