Posted 8 months ago I am already a nursing graduate from the Philippines, and also a board passer there, applying for NCLEX-RN in California, but after the evaluation of my application I have been required to complete additional course work, both theory and clinical practice on my Medical-Surgical and Obstetrics to an accredited school of professional nursing school in California, or any state here in US to be able to meet the requirements of the Board of Nursing. But they said that I can also take the LVN exam. Can you guys help me and guide me on what to do? Do you think I should take the LVN? and another question is, does it mean I have to take a regular college year to complete these credits? I am also looking for financial aid/ scholarship so I can take these course works. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE I NEED YOU HELP, ADVISE AND SUGGESTIONS. THANK YOU ALL FOR YOUR TIME TO READ THIS. |

| Posted 8 months ago charlei09 Hiya.. well from what I understand is that most of the Phillipino Graduates nurses are in the same situation.. It seems to be that most of them have to get more hour in OB/GYN and M/S. There are some schools around, but it seems pretty expensive and a fairly long waiting list.. So with that, If you want to take the LVN then you may at least be able to work until you have complete the neceswsary requirements for your RN. For your question re: I would call the LVN BON or the colllege you are going to go to and ask the academic advisor... The same school will give you information about financial / scholarshis /grants and such.. Best of luck to you.. Please keep us posted.. Teresa |

I don't know how to start since I have all my credentials already handed to CA BON, i have ask for another copy so I can apply for LVN? It's really a hard time for me specially financially, trying to comply all the requirement needed. I really have no idea right now on what should I do first. |

| Posted 8 months ago charlie, what I would do is to contact the CBON and ask them directly.. They will know exactly what you should do and exactly where to start..The LPN BON will need your transcripts also, so maybe they can assist you along.. Best of luck to you..Please keep us posted.. Teresa |
