I Resolve…..for a week.

Earlier this month we took a look at some New Years resolutions of nurses, doctors, and other healthcare professionals.  We also asked some of our fans on Facebook what they resolved to do (one of our favorites was the resolution to not make resolutions..think about that for a second!).

We thought it would be fun to take a look at some stats about how resolved people are to keep their resolutions!

Depending on who you ask the top 10 resolutions made vary but they all tend to include:

 1.Stop Smoking

2.Get out of those plus size scrubs (in other words lose weight!)

3.Spend more time with family & friends

 4.Get out of debt

 5.Help others/volunteer

 6.Get organized

 7.Find that special someone

 8.Enjoy life (pretty open ended!)

 9.Learn something new

 10.Quit Drinking

I imagine the the majority of people have made at least one of these resolutions at some point in their life.  Heck, the majority of the resolutions we heard fell into one of these 10 categories.  The questions remains though; how good are we at keeping them?

The stats show that after only one week 25% of people have already given up on their resolutions! By the one month mark, which we are quickly approaching, that number grows to around 35%.

The good news is if you make it past month one you are more than likely to stay true to your resolution.  Only another 5%-10% of people quit after the one month mark.  The moral of the story, if you are still hanging strong on your resolutions don’t give up!  You are almost to the tipping point!
