Does such a road really exist, perhaps in rural Ireland, not far from the famed Blarney Stone?.

No such road exists except in the world of Photoshop. The photo was a fake.

What about this swirling mushroom cloud?

Actually, it is real. This extraordinary photo is of a small thunderstorm out on the prairie of Montana.

What about this strange room?

Believe it or not, it is real -- part of a vast underground salt mine in Poland.

 What about this roof?

Yes, it is real -- the "eyes" are second-story windows of a house in rural England

What about this watery temple?

Yes, it is real -- the famed underground Yerebatan Saray Sarnıçı, also called the Basilica Cistern, a below-ground Byzantine fresh water reservoir in downtown Istanbul, Turkey. It was built in the latter years of the Roman Empire, then forgotten until in the Middle Ages residents reported being able to catch fish from shallow wells.

What about this icy roadway?

Of course it's real -- as you know if you've watched the History Channel's "Ice Road Truckers" reality TV show. It's the Dalton Highway that leads over the frozen tundra to the North Slope oilfields at Barrow Alaska.

But what about this castle -- taken from a popular screensaver?

Nope, it's fake.

But what about this fanciful scene?

It is completely authentic. Visitors to the tallest building in the Western Hemisphere, Chicago's Sears Tower, can now survey the Windy City from 103rd-floor glass balconies that jut out from the building, providing a unique view, 1,353 feet in the air.

But what about this desert scene?

It is real, an annual balloon regatta held in the popular tourist destination of Cappodacia, Turkey, well known for its natural cone-shaped formations, many of which have been used for centuries as houses, shops and worship centers for residents.

 But what about this highway?

Sorry, it's another special-effects artwork created on Photoshop!

 But what about this town?

It's very real! It's the town of Buford, California, population 1. The sole resident is also the mayor. He works as a janitor in a nearby town.
