Posted 4 months ago I am trying to get my daughter into thinking about going to school but she is a single mother of two. She also dropped out of school at 16 and went back later to get her GED. She is thinking about becoming a CMA but I believe it is because she thinks that is all that she can handle psychologically as well as physically. I know that if she went to become an LVN her opportunities and income will be so much greater but the intensity of the program might be too much for her. I think that she could handle it if she wanted to. I got my ADN in two years while raising small children but I also didn't have to work and had the support of my husband. She doesn't have that advantage. She lives with me so I can give her the support and help with the kids but I work full-time, too. Any suggestions? |

| Posted 4 months ago BeckyJW, That is so very nice that you are there encouraging your daughter for her future.. Here's my thought.. going step by step is a great thing.. However, in the long run, it will take more time and money...Has she ever just considered going right for her RN... After her pre-req's, ( which she needs anyway) it's about a 2 year program and then she's done.. Many, many people don't know what the program entails until they are in school.. But somehow, they manage to finish.. So best of luck to her and please keep us posted..Teresa |
