Background check - please help

I just enrolled in LVN program in California. At orientation I found out that you can be denied lincense if you don't have a clean background.

I've been convicted 9 years ago for shoplifting and burglary, just for been stupid  (my english was really bad , have no attorney and plead guilty). Then 4 years ago , I realized that this is going to affect my life and I hire an attorney who dismissed my entire case .

This being said , I told the school about my problem and they ran my background check. It came back clear. The reprezentative said that I should be OK and I don't have to disclose this , but I'm really concerned about The Board of nursing - says they run the background check through Dept of Justice.

Who can give me some advice? Do you think that my conviction will show with Dept of Justice or  being dismissed is not showing anymore?

I'm so stressed because this is a private school and spending all this money and time and not having a license at the end will be terrible.

Thanks

Did you tell them about yours? I haven't yet to afraid of what they will say.

I've told the school about my problem. They ran a background check on me who came clean, but this doesn't mean anything.

My rep told me that the case is dismissed and I should be fine, but you have to disclose.

Yesterday I requested a copy of my record from Dept of Justice, to see what it says.

Are you almost done with school??Let me know how it goes!!

Thks

Wow, things from the past really do catch up with us, huh? People do change. People make mistakes. Wishing the best of everything to you all.
