best place to work in OR?

Posted about 2 years ago Hi, I just joined the group - and just got my RN license in NY. I have wanted to move to Portland for nearly 20 years but family matters have kept me here. I'm applying for an RN license in OR and coming for a visit in mid-April. What do you like most about nursing in OR? where are the best places to work -- especially for a new grad nurse? I'm interested in geriatrics - so working in a nursing home is fine for me (I got into nursing because of my elderly parents). Anyone know about good nursing homes to work in? I would love to hear any advice on working in OR - particularly Portland. Many thanks!! |

| Posted almost 2 years ago Thinking of working in NY. What are the salaries like there. I have worked all over the hospital and really love the OR. As a new grad I would suggest, if not already, work the floor, ER or ICU to gather your important assessment skills. In the OR you are always using your cirtical thinking skils and to be able t do good assessment is crucial. Hope this helps. |
