Posted 4 months ago Hello All, This is my first post and I am excited to be here! I have a question to ask the forum. How do you feel about the role Medical Assistants play in the Medical field? I was an M.A. five years ago for only one year. I had to leave because I was exhasuted and needed a break, so I quit. Now I am ready to get back into the field. I am planning on becoming a registered M.A. and taking a refresher course at the college I previously graduated from. Medical Assistants get a lot of flack about their role and what they do. We do alot administratively as well as clinically so why is it we are underpaid? We go to school for a year or even two and yet the pay does not reflect the quality and hard work an M.A. has to do. Why are there CNA jobs and not M.A. jobs in the top tab? |

| Posted 4 months ago Hiya Carmen, I can say for sure, MA's are a very big part of the medical field.. They do some much within the relm of traing..Except for IV's I can't think of a thing that they don't do.. They even take x-yays! In all of the years I have been a nurse, I have never been trained or X-rays. Yes, it is exhausting but so is the rest of the medical field.. Finally, I think it is a great idea for you to take a refresher class. That would not only refresh you, it will give you some information on new equiptment.. I hope that may answer some of your concerns.. I wish you the very best of luck.. Please keep us posted on your decision... Teresa |
