Posted about 2 years ago I have been a med-surg nurse for 22 yrs and would like to enter dialysis nursing but I am not sure how to enter and obtain training. Does anyone have or know of training programs besides trying to fing a hospital that trains new employee? Are there technical schools that would train" old school nurses" to get some experience |

| Posted about 2 years ago Many dialysis companies are free standing and not in hospital. There are many dialysis centers, and I have a friend who has been a dialysis nurse. I would suggest doing a google search in your area to see where they are located near you. They usually give on the job training. Joyce Harrell, RN, OCN

| Posted about 2 years ago " In reference to Dialysis Nursing,it would even be wise to look for an opportunity to work on a Telemetry Unit. Many moons ago, when hospitals did employ LPNs,it was very advantageous to learn about the electrolyte imbalances patients experience before / after treatment,as well as the cardiac arrhythmias, secondary to K / Mg exchanges. Aside from the vocational expense of a private school, actually seeing / experiencing,hands-on is, "worthwhile, earning and learning". |

| Posted about 2 years ago Well Im not replying on this in a professional capacity: Im back on my mother in laws poop list because after she started dialysis, she SWORE, her doc would put her on a list for a new kidney. Well NEVER bring crap like this up at a family gathering but thats exactly what the bitch did, but she put my hubby on the donor list. So it comes to ME to say hell NO your not getting my hubby'a kidney even if your doc said you were a good candidate. She does the WELL HE'S MY SON AND HE CAN GIVE ME A KIDNEY IF HE WANTS TO. I cant keep my mouth shut because I pipe in this is my husband sworn to God to take me before all among our wedding vows. Those are both MY kidneys and I choose not to give you one to poison like youve been doing to your own kidneys for your entire life. <stuck my tongue out at all of them>. So my name is mud for a while but tis ok. |
