NLN PAX-RN is short for National League for Nursing Pre Admission eXamination. Many nursing schools require nursing students to take some type of entrance exam whether it is the NLN PAX-RN, ATI TEAS, HOBET, HESI, or NET exam.

Most nursing schools require you to score a 50 or higher in order to be accepted into their program. However, this may vary among nursing schools.

What happens if I score less 49 or less on the NLN PAX-RN Exam?

This depends on your nursing schools rules. Most nursing schools allow you to take the exam one more time. If you fail it again on your second try you may have to wait 6 months until you can test again.

On the other hand, some nursing schools only let you take it one time and if you fail you have to wait until the next nursing program begins which could be a year or semester. Again check with your nursing schools requirements.

A score of 56 is usually the required score by universities to be considered as passing. However, each section is scored differently and most universities only care about the math and reading scores.

The average HOBET math score is a 59 and a score of 39 or lower is considered a low math score meaning you failed it and need to improve.
