, I attended a technical school training for Medical Assistant where I became a certified phlebotomist. I completed in 2010 and every year I pay the 65.00 dollars to renew my phlebotomy certification and I have not been able to obtain employment. I have sent out numerous resume's and to no avail. Everyone wants experience and since it's been x-amount of years I'm really in trouble. I'm from Massachusetts and you have to obtain certification's for everything now and yet no one will hire me. I know there are refresher courses you can take but how can I afford it when I can barely afford my student loans. Sorry to be debbie downer I guess my question is how do I obtain employment, I love the medical field I love working and helping people and I know I would be the best medical assistant/phlebotomist but no one will give me a chance. Please respond.

Thank you and have a wonderful day.

Hiya applemoon, Congratulations on your graduation of your choice school..I am sorry about the difficulty in finding a position, the entire medical field has this same issue. What I tell my student to get an intern ship and that will give you the need.. for phlebotomists, I usual tell them The blood bank, blood service etc. See if that helps you out and please keep us posted.. Best of luck to you.. Teresa
