I have currently failed the ADN program at my college by .10 and now am trying the LPN course.  In the LPN course I was doing good at first, but one week away from the final I am barely passing.

My anxiety is high and know I can do this, but it keeps hauting me about how I failed my second ADN class by .10   My question is does anyone have any tips on how to prepare for a final and to control test anxiety that has snow balled from previous classes.

Thanks

Get some Relaxation Tape/Meditate to it like a Waterfall listen to it the niite before, Even better get Board review books for RNs NOT LPNs Know Why?   I personally have Retook Fl State Boards RNs minus 1 time due to a car accident bout 6 times I took the LPNs in between & passed it gave me the confidence to pass RN last shot! .  I even took 2 review courses. Most of all Don't punish yourself,do something for yourself there is such a thing as Overstudy-you can get your mind jumbled up!  The Board Folks are also known for taking test questions out of the Review Book Too. Anytime You want to know something write me? KK? I am worst 1 w/Test anxiety, had retaken  2 classes waitied 1yr I failed them but able to retake the classes w/a threat they would throw me out!.

I am not trying to be trite when I offer this advice, but have your considered counseling and possibly medications?

The only reason that I ask is this:  You are persistant in your desire to go to nursing school, you start out doing well, then you freeze-up before the finish line.  My first wild guesses would be either some anxiety issue or instead of a fear of failure, a fear to succeed.  Sounds weird, but it can happen.

It would be worth the cost of sitting down with a good therapist and talk about it.

P.S. - I am not trying to say anyone is crazy (except maybe myself), but anxiety is something that can overwhelm even experianced people in different situations.

Good luck with finals.

I believe we all start off that way- scared senseless until get a handle on our emotions!!!!!!!!!! Just be confident that you're not the only one feeling like this!!!!!! Just be PREPARED, and LET THE CHIPS FALL WHERE THEY MAY!!!!!!!!!!!
