My director of operations is holding a huge grudge against me and creating a hostile work environment. Should I call human resources?


A year ago, I left a clinical manager position to become a home therapies program manager. My director of operations is my old boss who is holding a huge grudge against me and creating a hostile work environment. I don't know how to approach this problem and I am miserable. My nurses have told me she's out to get me. Should I call human resources?




Most employers have strict policies against a hostile workplace. Check with human resources about the procedure to file a complaint. In the meantime, keep detailed notes about what occurs, what is said and by whom and what actions you take.


Keep in mind that even if you do the above, the situation may not change or get resolved. So you also may want to explore other employment options in the interim. Sometimes it makes it easier to move on when you see that you have other options.
