It has been a year since I graduated Nursing school (ADN) and I still have not found a job.  I am from Connecticut and most Graduate Residency Programs prefer BSN nurses.  Can anyone give me advice or suggestions where I maybe able to find employment or are there other options beside a Residency Program.  It does get discouraging because I am really looking forword to working as a Nurse.

I just read an article on Nursing Link by Ms. Joyce Harrell. This article gives you alot of alternatives to keep your skills current and in practice. Don't give up, MaryBeth!

If you can move there a jobs for new ADN grads in different areas of the country.  I graduated on Thursday, had got the call on Tuesday while at the hair salon getting my hair done for graduation when I got my offer-full-time in ICU at local hospital. Keep your hope alive and spread your search out.

It took me TWO years to find a GN position.  Don't give up! :).  I did find a position in cardiovascular research that I loved but the drive was too much.  I FINALLY saw a GN position at the local hospital (where I did my clinicals) and it happened to be on the EXACT floor I wanted.....so I believe that things happen as they should.  Don't give up!!!!
