Posted about 2 years ago I am a recent grad and I failed the nclex on my 1st attempt. I do admit I was slacking in calss, but now i am trying to make it better. Can someone please steer me in the direction. If I dont pass on my next attempt Im going to give up. I have 3 review books. Even the Pearson group exam cram. I did wonderfully with that book, but of course the nclex was much different. I had 87 questions, and 3 that I remember I made stupid mistakes with. PLEASE HELP!!!!!! |

Posted almost 2 years ago Dear OUT OF STATE, I am a recent grad from a LPN program in Florida. I used a book called Prentice Hall Nursing Comprehensive Review for NCLEX-PN for studying for boards. This book had a CD-ROM, too. It coontained over 5,000 questions, it was very in-depth with the rationales for the answers. You can also use the internet and download practice test and answers from various NCLEX-PN/RN sites, just use your computer. Don't give up or give in! There is help out there, you may have to search it out. Does your program offer a review for students taking or retaking the NCLEX? Anyway, the test is evaluating your safety to practice, it doesn't matter how many you answer or how many you got right. The NCLEX doesn't work that way. After each question , your level below or above the passing standard is evaluated, if you are above the passing level when the computer stops, you pass and if you are below that standard you fail. It took me a while to understand that, but I eventually understood what they are saying. Utilize your 3 review books, Pearson is an excellent one. Look for the Comprehensive Review from Prentice Hall with the accompanying CD-ROM. Good luck to you, and God Bless!

Posted almost 2 years ago I took the Kaplan course. It REALLY helped. Passed with 75 questions in 45 minutes. I also used Saunders and Mosby books. Good luck! You can do this!

Posted over 1 year ago Hello! Don't worry! You will pass eventually! The way I passed was with this online study guide I ordered. It really helped me tremendously. I found it here www.teachingsolutions.org/nclex.html. Check it out, it will probably help you too. Hope you pass! XO, Tiffany NCLEX Review Girl

Posted over 1 year ago I graduated from a nursing school here in Alabama in December of 2003. I took my NCLEX in March of 2004 and failed it the first time. I studied and studied and when I took it the second time, I felt confident that I would pass it the second time around and I failed it as well. The third time I took it was in 2006 and my computer crashed right in the middle of my exam and I raised so much hell it was not funny at all. I told them and they did absolutely nothing about it. Ever since I failed it my third time, I left it alone and I didn't even think about going back to take it again. It has been five years since I took my NLCEX for PN. I haven't had the money to go back and take it. I've been using my time very wisely to get on the computer and refresh my computer skills and my math skills because I knew that in high school I was a little weak in Math, but since then, I've improved my math skills and I am determined to go back and take it again and I'm not going to give up on something that I've worked so hard to get and let go to waste. I've worked my *** off when I was in nursing school and I can't see myself as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) for the rest of my life. Unlike a number of people, I started out at the bottom of the chain and worked my way up and this time when I go back to take my NCLEX-PN, I know in my heart I'm going to pass it. I know that it's a hard test and everything, but I want everyone to know that you can pass anything you want to as long as you set your mind to it and I'm not going to give up. I've worked too hard for this and I'm not going to let my Certificate in Practical Nursing go to waste.
